Turn a TikTok recipe into a shopping list
Most saved recipes never get cooked, because between the video and dinner there is a shopping list to write, a supermarket site to search and a cost nobody knows until the checkout. Quickle removes those steps. You share the video; it does the reading, the pricing and the basket.
The steps
- Share the video. On the TikTok or Instagram video, tap Share and choose Quickle. On iPhone it is in the row of apps; on Android it is in the share sheet. Pasting the link into Quickle works too.
- Let Quickle read it. It reads the caption, listens to the audio and looks at the frames, then writes out the ingredients with quantities, the method and the nutrition. Recipes that are only spoken still come out whole.
- Check the list. Change a quantity, drop an ingredient you will not use, set how many people you are cooking for.
- Add it to your week. It is priced at your chosen supermarket as soon as it lands, so you see the cost per plate next to the dish.
- Fill the basket. One tap puts every ingredient into your Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose or Ocado basket. You sign in to the supermarket on your own phone and check out as usual. For Aldi, which has no online shop, you get a priced aisle-by-aisle list.
What it is good at, and what it is not
It is good at the ordinary case: a creator talking through a one-pan dinner with the ingredients in the caption or on screen. It handles photos of cookbook pages and ordinary recipe websites the same way. It is not magic: a video with no recipe in it, a clip that only shows the finished plate, or a caption that just says “recipe in comments” gives Quickle nothing to read, and it will tell you so instead of guessing.
Quantities follow what the creator gives. “A splash of soy” becomes a sensible amount you can edit before anything is bought. Every ingredient is matched to a real product at your shop, with the pack size and price shown, so you know you are buying a 500 g bag of pasta for a recipe that uses 200 g.

Questions
Does it work if the recipe is only spoken in the video?
Yes. Quickle listens to the audio and reads the frames as well as the caption, so a recipe that is only talked through still comes out as a full ingredient list with quantities. If a video has no recipe in it at all, Quickle says so rather than inventing one.
Which apps can I share from?
TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, any recipe website, and photos. On iPhone and Android you use the normal share button and choose Quickle.
Does it get the quantities right?
It reads what the creator gives. Where a video says "a handful of spinach", Quickle writes a sensible amount and shows it to you before anything is bought, so you can change it.
Can I do this without a subscription?
Importing and reading a recipe is part of the free app. Filling a supermarket basket and planning a priced week are Quickle Pro, £2.99 a week or £29.99 a year, with a free trial on the yearly plan.
