Delete your account
You can delete your Quickle account and everything attached to it in two ways. Both do the same thing.
In the app
Open Quickle → Profile → Account → Delete account. You’ll be asked to confirm twice, and then it happens immediately.
By email
If you’ve uninstalled the app, or you can’t sign in, email contact@quickleapp.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We’ll confirm and complete it within 30 days, usually within one working day.
If you signed in with Apple or Google and aren’t sure which address that was, email us anyway and say so — we can find the account from the one you write from, and we’ll check with you before deleting anything.
What gets deleted
Everything held against your account is removed permanently and is not recoverable:
- Your account and sign-in details.
- Saved recipes, including anything you imported from a link or a photo.
- Your meal plans, baskets and shopping history.
- Your profile settings — household size, dietary preferences, chosen supermarket, budget.
- Your device’s notification token, so we can no longer send you anything.
If you are in a shared household, the shared plan itself passes to whoever else is in it rather than being deleted with your account — the other members’ data is theirs, not yours. Your membership and your name are removed from it.
What we keep, and for how long
- Purchase and refund records — held by Apple or Google, not by us. If you had a subscription, the record of it stays with the store. UK tax law requires us to keep the associated financial records for six years, but they identify a transaction, not a person’s recipes or plans.
- Anonymous product and crash data — already stripped of anything that identifies you, and therefore not linkable back to your account to delete. It is retained in aggregate.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, because the subscription is held by the app store rather than by us. Cancel it before you delete:
- Google Play: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Quickle → Cancel.
- Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Quickle → Cancel.
More detail on what we hold and why is in the Privacy Policy. Anything unclear, just ask us.
